Judging Criteria
There are two levels of Recreational/Optional in Western Washington: Intermediate and Advanced. Gymnasts compete in the division of their best event. In both divisions the requirements for the events are the same, if the gymnast has higher levels of difficulty in events, they should compete advanced. Examples include saltos on floor, strong front handspring vaults, flyaways on bars, backwalkovers/salto dismounts on beam would all constitute as advanced skills requiring the gymnasts to compete advanced.
